CPNS
I would like to share the journey of my thoughts after seeing the announcement of the Civil Servant Candidate Recruitment (CPNS). Initially, I was not particularly interested in it and disregarded it. In my mind, becoming a Civil Servant (PNS) simply meant having a regular job like I have done before.
However, my experience working in the private sector for the past few years, especially in facing the Covid-19 health crisis from 2019 to 2021 and the economic deficit from 2022 until now (2023), has truly opened my eyes. I started to question why I was so focused on working in the private sector alone, even though I have given my maximum contribution to the company and helped open new branches.
The most painful thing is when our position can be replaced at any time and someone tries to take our place when we are sick or unable to work. This made me realize that if I choose to continue my career in the private sector, I need to have a side job as security and skill development.
I also see some of my friends who have ventured into the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) world and have been more successful than me. Friends like Pipal and Shulkifli are examples of this. They had the courage to step out of their comfortable work environment and start from scratch.
When the company I work for opened a new branch, my friends took the same step and opened their own business branches. Although their jobs may seem simple, such as culinary (Pipal) and clothing (Shulkifli), the results are very tangible and evident.
I realize that even though I work longer hours, around 12 hours a day, they seem to be more prosperous and stable than me. They truly enjoy their lives. This is only a small example of what I see around me. Those who are dedicated and consistent in their businesses, God willing, will achieve satisfying results.
Now, I feel it's time for me to dare to step out of the comfort zone of the private sector. For me, becoming a PNS or private employee is just a bonus. What is more important is to have additional sources of income that can guarantee the development of skills and sharpen my talents in the business world.
I hope that with this decision, I can move forward, take new steps in my career, and live a more meaningful and satisfying life.
