Appointed as Forum Mahasiswa UTKL

Kuala Lumpur-UTKL: The Director of Open University Pokjar Kuala Lumpur, Taufiq Hasyim Salengke, who initiated the establishment of UT in Malaysia, appointed 20 student leaders for the Forum Mahasiswa UTKL in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (10/12/2023). They are not only students of UT, but also Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Malaysia. The appointment ceremony was held at the Taufiq Kiemas Hall of the Education and Culture Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, SIKL. 

About 105 UTKL students, PMI who work in various sectors throughout the Peninsular Malaysia, attended the open dialogue event entitled "UT Open Dialogue for all Students in Malaysia". The event was enlivened by an Indonesian food bazaar, hosted by the FM-UTKL Entrepreneurship Division, the UTKL students, and Instarem Remittance Booth, which distributed gifts such as clothing bags, notebook, and tumbler to at least 100 UTKL students who attended the event.

The appointment ceremony started with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem "Indonesia Raya" and the UT Hymn, followed by the reading of the appointment script, and the symbolic appointment handover to the FM-UTKL Chairman Dodi Ismuhar and Vice Chairman Zain Ridho. "In the name of Almighty God, I appoint you as the student organization team for UTKL. I hope that you will be able to fulfill your duties with good faith and responsibility," read the appointment script by the Director of UT Pokjar Kuala Lumpur.

The appointment was positively received by UTKL students who were unable to attend the event. They sent their congratulations and best wishes through the UTKL student WhatsApp group. Following the appointment handover, all the student managers participated in the flag-raising ceremony and demonstrated their loyalty to the nation by full-respect to the Indonesian flag. The flag was carried by UTKL alumni Abdul Mugni, S.I.Kom, guided by MC Miranda Yulita and Octa.

In his speech, FM-UTKL Chairman Dodi Ismuhar expressed his commitment to fulfilling his duties and responsibilities along with other student managers. "We will work according to the expectations of the Director and UTKL students," he said.

The event ended with various performances, such as a trio by Chandra and Cholifah, a solo by Ririn Syahputri, a magic show by Iwan Shah, and Hafiz reading a poem. Moreover, students continued to enjoy the entertainment and take pictures together.
