Overtime at the Factory
Today, my three coworkers and I had to do overtime at the factory where we work. Often, when we start working, there are machines that encounter problems and need to be fixed immediately to ensure smooth production.
One common issue that arises when machines stop and need to be restarted are minor obstacles. We have to ensure that all machine functions, such as Paper Core Cutting, Pitching Material, Coiled Back, and all other machine requirements, are functioning optimally.
Our supervisor, Mr. Awie, led us in this task. He provided clear instructions and made sure that we understood our respective tasks. Despite having to work on a Sunday, we remained enthusiastic and dedicated to completing this job well.
Interestingly, our boss himself, Mr. Alvin, was also present alongside us. He wanted to see firsthand how hard we worked and how we overcame the problems. His presence gave us extra motivation to work harder and showcase our best abilities.
During this overtime, we learned a lot about precision and discipline. Despite being tired and occasionally frustrated with the problems that arose, we made an effort to maintain focus and cohesiveness within the team. We distributed tasks effectively, supported each other, and provided encouragement to ensure the work was completed quickly and accurately.
After several hours of hard work, all the machine issues were resolved. The machines were restarted successfully, and production could continue as usual. The four of us felt relieved and proud of what we had accomplished today.
Although this overtime added to our workload and time, we feel that it was a valuable experience. We learned not to give up in the face of problems and to continually seek solutions. We also learned to work harmoniously as a team and remain organized even in stressful situations.
I feel fortunate to have supervisors and a boss who support us and pay direct attention to our work. They provide motivation and ensure that we can work comfortably and efficiently. The camaraderie and work ethic that developed among all of us made this overtime experience memorable.
