The Itochu Culture

I come across an Instagram post about the work culture at the Japanese, 'ITOCHU'. One thing that cought my attention is its approaches to reducing excessive work culture, employees are not allow to continue working after 8:00 p.m., while those who arrive earlier receive additional pay and breakfast benefits.

I then thought to myself, “Apparently, this is the kind of work culture that suits me.”

In fact, without realizing it, I have been following a similar pattern in my daily life for quite some time. I prefer to start my activities early in the morning, finish my work earlier, and, whenever possible, avoid making late nights a regular time for working.

I simply never know that this kind of approach is also part of the work culture of a major company like ITOCHU.

And there is one more thing that made me smile. My life algorithm have always follow one simple principle, the earlier the morning, the stronger the momentum.

For me, morning is not simply the time to start working. It is when my mind feels calmer, my energy is still at its peak, and there seems to be a greater opportunity to accomplish more.

Perhaps that is why I have always feel that starting work early is much better than pushing myself to work late into the night.

I used to think this is simply a personal habit.

Today, I realize that there is a major company that shares a remarkably similar way of thinking.

It is not about working longer, but about working better. And perhaps productivity is not always about who can stay at work the longest, but about who can manage their time, energy, and life more wisely.

Sometimes, we have been living by a certain principle for years without realizing that the principle already have a name.
