Today, I watched several interesting films. Here are some brief notes about my viewings:
1. The East (2020) - 7.9/10
This film tells the story of a young Dutch soldier tasked with suppressing the Indonesian independence movement after World War II. The soldier experiences a severe internal conflict as his duties place him in increasingly brutal situations that clash with his conscience. The story offers an intriguing perspective on the history and struggle for Indonesian independence.
2. The Whirlwind - 7.9/10
This film is about Park Dong-ho, the Prime Minister of South Korea, who is determined to punish a corrupt president colluding with chaebols (powerful family-owned businesses) and change the political landscape. On the other side, Jung Soo-jin, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, confronts Park Dong-ho, sparking intense political disputes. This drama is filled with complex political intrigue and strategy.
3. Maidaan - 8/10
This film is inspired by the Indian National Football Team and its manager, Syed Abdul Rahim, who is considered the architect of Indian football. The story depicts Rahim's struggle and dedication in building a strong and successful football team at the international level. This film touches on the spirit of sportsmanship and patriotism.
