Friday Sermon: "WHY DID GISBH DO THIS TO CHILDREN?"
The issue of child abuse and exploitation involving Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) has raised serious concerns within the community. Allegations of physical and sexual abuse, forced labor, and violations of Islamic creed associated with the charitable homes and schools under GISBH reveal the fragility of child protection in some institutions. This situation not only involves criminal activities but also threatens the moral and religious values that Islamic organizations are supposed to uphold. If the accusations against GISBH are proven true, it constitutes a severe betrayal of the trust given by Allah SWT.
Furthermore, the Friday sermon emphasizes the importance of closing all unregistered charitable homes to prevent children from further harm. The Sultan of Selangor has taken a firm stance by ordering the closure of these homes, a just decision to curb more injustices from occurring. This step is crucial because it sends a clear message that the exploitation of children is intolerable, especially within institutions labeled as Islamic. Swift action in this case not only protects the children but also restores public trust in charitable homes that should be places of refuge, not abuse.
In Islam, children are a trust from Allah SWT, who must be cared for and nurtured with love. The Prophet Muhammad SAW himself emphasized that Muslims who do not show mercy to children or fulfill their rights are not among his followers. The act of oppressing or exploiting children is not only against the law but also contradicts Islamic teachings, which stress the protection and preservation of children's rights. Therefore, any form of oppression against them must be eradicated, and those responsible for such crimes must be held accountable with utmost seriousness.
Parents also have a critical role in ensuring the safety of their children. The sermon reminds parents to be more cautious when selecting care centers for their children, carefully examining the background of the institutions involved. Not all institutions that bear the Islamic name necessarily fulfill their responsibilities properly. Thus, parents should ensure that the institutions are registered and run by individuals who truly understand and execute their duties in accordance with Islamic law.
In conclusion, the issue of child abuse and exploitation must be taken seriously by all Muslims. Children are the future of the ummah and must be protected and educated with sincere love. What has happened under GISBH, if proven true, reflects the failure of the institution to uphold the trust of Allah. Therefore, society, authorities, and parents must work together to ensure that such injustices do not happen again, for the benefit of the children and a brighter future ahead.
