Syahdan

It’s been a long time since I last saw Syahdan. The last time we met was in 2017 when I returned to Sabah to visit my mother’s grave. Time has passed so quickly, and just yesterday I had the chance to visit his rented house with abang Sabri.

Now, Syahdan has grown up, and it made me realize that time waits for no one. I used to see him the same way I see Farhan and Syahmie today—cheerful kids full of energy. But now, Syahdan has matured, taking on life with responsibility. He works at one of the big shops in Selangor, and all I can say is Masya Allah, how far he has come.

It brings peace to my heart knowing that Syahdan is surrounded by the right people. His housemates are all from Tawau, Sabah—educated individuals with promising careers. Some work in the offshore petroleum industry, and one is a future pilot. What is more comforting is that they all prioritize prayer, are well-mannered, and uphold proper etiquette. With this kind of circle, I am confident Syahdan is on the right path.

Syahdan has grown into the person I always hoped for, and I pray that goodness continues to follow him in every step he takes.
