"Knowledge and Home"
The knowledge I gained today is that I want to explain that the way I speak or write messages has many meanings depending on the context. For example, when I say 'saya ingatkan,' I mean 'I understand' or 'I think' what is being discussed. However, I realize that this can be misunderstood as a direct instruction, like 'I command you to do it.' So, it's important to understand the context and the audience when communicating, especially if I'm talking to Malaysians or Indonesians.
Moving Ownership of a Rented House
Finally, the house that my father has been renting since 2009 has changed ownership and is now rented by my sister-in-law, Kak Nuriyati Juanis. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah). However, if we look at the long history of this house, we'll find an interesting story.
Initially, Mr. Lee Keng Foo had difficulty finding tenants for this house for a long time. There is a story from the past that this house was once the site of a tragic incident, namely the suicide of a woman. Allahuallam (Only Allah knows). This story circulated among the long-time residents of Chiliung.
Until 2009, my father and my sister, Sania, decided to rent this house. Although many were afraid, we did not feel the same way. Even during our stay there, none of us experienced anything supernatural. Everything was safe, peaceful, and comfortable.
In 2017, my father returned to his hometown, and Kak Sania moved to Sabah. That's when I became the sole tenant of this house. Some other people have also shared the rent with me, mostly factory workers, but eventually, they all returned to their respective hometowns.
Now, it's 2023. After my brother Nordin and Kak Yati also moved from Sabah to Klang, and I myself plan to return to my hometown, I have decided to continue renting this house to them. It's unimaginable that this house has been our place of residence for 14 years. Many life stories have happened here.
