"IMAM MAHDI: BETWEEN TRUTH AND DEVIATION"
Regarding Imam Mahdi, this sermon distinguishes between the truth based on authentic hadiths and the deviations that have misled society.
First, one of the arguments presented is that the emergence of Imam Mahdi is true and recognized by Islam. There are authentic hadiths that describe the physical characteristics and lineage of Imam Mahdi, stating that he is a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad SAW through Saidatina Fatimah. His name will also coincide with the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which is Muhammad bin Abdullah.
Second, deviations often occur when individuals claim to be Imam Mahdi without strong evidence. In Islamic history, this has caused division among the Muslim community. In Malaysia, several deviant teachings such as Qadiani and Al-Arqam have claimed to support Imam Mahdi, and the Selangor fatwa has rejected such claims as deviating from the truth.
Third, a hadith also explains that Imam Mahdi will not proclaim himself. Instead, he will be recognized through the characteristics mentioned in the hadiths, such as a broad forehead and a prominent nose, and his ability to establish justice in a world filled with oppression.
Fourth, Prophet Isa Alaihissalam is also associated with the appearance of Imam Mahdi. According to a hadith, Prophet Isa will descend after Imam Mahdi to assist in killing Dajjal. This is one of the major signs of the Day of Judgment recognized in Islamic teachings.
Fifth, this sermon emphasizes the importance for Muslims not to be swayed by false claims made by certain individuals or groups. Such baseless claims not only damage the faith but also create confusion among Muslims.
In conclusion, this sermon calls on Muslims to be cautious regarding claims related to Imam Mahdi and to reject all forms of deviation that are not based on authentic sources.
