Diversity in Klang
Today, I start the morning with a refreshing walk around Klang. I plan my destination to be Klang KTM Station, hoping to enjoy breakfast at one of the restaurants there. Upon arriving, I notice three restaurants lined up: Arafa Restaurant, Bismillah Restaurant, and Family Kopitiam. Interestingly, each of these restaurants represents a different cultural background. If I’m not mistaken, Arafa is owned by an Indian, Bismillah by a Malay, and Family Kopitiam by a Chinese.
The scene there are unique and heartwarming. Customers freely chose where to eat without regard to the restaurant’s background. In fact, Family Kopitiam is bustling with Malay patrons, Bismillah have many Chinese and Indian customers, while Arafa, where I chose to have breakfast, is fill with people from various ethnicities. There are no barriers, only the beauty of diversity.
Amid this lively atmosphere, there are a palpable sense of mutual support and harmony, without any divisive narratives. Alhamdulillah, may this country continue to be a symbol of harmony in diversity, a model for the world on how to live together in peace, filled with tolerance and mutual respect.
The beauty of diversity in Klang—may it always be preserved.
