The Islamic Ruling on Drug Abuse

Islam unequivocally prohibits drug abuse due to its severe detrimental effects on individuals, families, and society. Drugs impair cognitive function, diminish rational thinking, and lead to the neglect of familial responsibilities. Furthermore, they erode personal dignity, jeopardize future prospects, and disrupt social harmony.
In addition, drugs are classified as intoxicating and hallucinogenic substances, akin to alcohol, which is explicitly forbidden in Islam. Their consumption also undermines an individual's ability to discern between right and wrong.

As an Arabic proverb states, "الوقايةُ خيرٌ من العلاج" ("Prevention is better than cure"), society must collectively strive to combat drug abuse in pursuit of communal well-being.
